When should I book my first prenatal appointment?

Just found out Monday that I’m pregnant, I’m around 4 weeks I believe and I read online you should wait until you’re 8 weeks to make an appointment with you doctor which I thought was odd.

Call your dr now so you’ll have the appointment scheduled. If you wait they might not have anything available for a few weeks.

Just call and ask. My OB saw me around 5 weeks and even did a transvaginal ultrasound and we could see the yolk sac. Every OB is different. Good luck and congrats! 😊

Go ahead and call already. It isn’t that women don’t schedule/book the appointments until that far out, that’s the decision of the Dr. 
Having an ultrasound done before 8 weeks you’re likely to not see anything or just see a sac. Around 8 weeks is when you can see sac, a tiny fetus, and make out a good heartbeat. I went to a free clinic a week after finding out and my Dr won’t even see me for another 1.5 weeks when I’ll be 15+ weeks!
