Anyone with Group B Strep Birth Experiences?

I just found out I tested positive for Group B streptococcus 😔 and feeling uneasy about birth now. This is my second baby so I didn’t go through my first with this. I’m nervous about getting to the hospital in time for the antibiotics to kick in for four hours before I give birth and also just nervous about giving the infection to my baby.
Can anyone give me their experiences with giving birth and having group b strep? How long did you end up staying in the hospital after baby was born?

A week before induction I found out I was GBS Positive. My labour was o my four hours and I didn't get enough antibiotics so my beautiful newborn son was very very ill! We stayed for a week to make sure his vitals were at a steady pace. 
This experience has scarred me emotionally. Now I'm pregnant with our second and because for this experience and how much it damaged I'm going for a planned induction this time.
I don't want to scare you at all but it annoys me that some people say don't worry you'll be fine. 
Please do some research to best prepare yourself Noticing the signs after birth is key 🔑 good luck and I hope things go swimmingly for you. Xx

Is it safe to be induced when strep b positive?

Any difference from a non group b strep for my sister & nephew was that my nephew was in the NICU to monitor him better and she was induced. Other than that there was no difference.

NBD for me. I was also in labor for 39hrs so I had more than enough time for them to kick in.  Antibiotics give me the runs so my first few poops after baby was nice and smooth lol Its a plus side to being gsb+

My son was born to fast and I didn't have time for antibiotics,  the hospital just had us stay 48 hours and he didn't show any signs and everything was prefect.  He is 5 days old now and all is well.

There wasn't any additional hospital stay for me for strep b

Hi there! I had it with my first and tested positive with this one too. They gave me two bags of iv antibiotics when I got to the hospital and they didn’t make a big fuss over it. Didn’t notice any side effects at all. Enjoy your birth!!
