is my period going to get lighter?

Hi

I was spotting on and off till Wednesday where I finally got some red blood and since then on its been more constant, so I guess that was the start of my period. Anyway today it wasn't that heavy and it wasn't red on Thursday until the evening. on Friday it was a little bit heavier but not as much as it used to be and red. Normally my periods are reasonably heavy and my last few are brown for a little then get a lot heavier. It went red then returned brown until thursday eveneing now its been red since thursdaay with a small/medium flow. Is there anyway I can tell if it's going to stay this light because I'm going on holiday on Sunday and I don't want it to suddenly get heavy
