Baby shower dud?

My baby shower is next weekend and I, for one, hate games and opening gifts in front of people. I feel like most people are bored watching someone open typical baby gifts and bingo is overplayed. Am I the only one who isn’t doing games and probably won’t open gifts until we go home? Or does that seem ungrateful? I just want to socialize and eat lol 🤷🏻‍♀️😊

I didn't wanna do games either but we had a coed shower and it ended up being really fun. as far as the gifts people want to see the cute baby things. lol

I thought the same. But, everyone at my shower really enjoyed watching me open my gifts to see what all my baby got! I wasn’t going to open them because I have extreme anxiety but I’m glad I did!

I am like that first pregnancy I told everyone I don't want to play games and my anxiety goes through the roof when people sit and watch me so there was no way I could open gifts in front of them and they all understood

I played games & it was fun but ran out of time to open gifts! I enjoyed opening them at home.

If you don’t want to open gifts infront of people then don’t! I always feel uncomfortable doing it. I’d rather not do it and feel comfortable.

I did an open house shower so I could avoid the games. My plan was to open gifts when I got home, but I had quite a few people ask me to open their gifts in front of them. I ended up about 50/50 on opening gifts at home or at the shower.

I feel like maybe if there’s a lull in the shower maybe I’ll open them but it just gets overwhelming and my anxiety gets to be too much. Too bad I can’t drink to take the edge off lol!!

My husband and I are taking my big sisters advice. Co-ed shower with food and beer (non alcoholic drinks too for the kiddos, preggos, and non-drinkers) and good family socializing. I’ll be excited when it comes time to happen!! I hate games and I don’t want to cut out half the important people out of the shower because they have a penis. Lol

You can skip the games. I think they are lame. No one seems to care much. But they do want to see the gifts. I had people asking me to hold something up again because they missed it.
