Engagement ring 💍

So my future hubby proposed to me last weekend and I cried tears of joy and obviously said yes. He is ultimately my best friend and I’m already making wedding plans 😍

He’s asked me earlier in our relationship about what sort of ring I’d want and I’m not a super materialistic person but I’ve always loved the idea of having a diamond ring, no matter if it was tiny I’d still appreciate it. I’d never had a real diamond anything as I was not as fortunate.. He always told me I’m his diamond in the rough and that symbolically he wanted to get me a diamond ring.

After he proposed, later on I asked what the ring was (not to be picky) to see how cautious I should be in caring for it. I’ve always been nervous about getting my jewelry wet and etc because of it tarnishing or changing color. He told me it was white gold and that it was real diamond but he wasn’t exactly sure of every specification.

So my ring is a bit too small. It fits but not comfortably, it’s about a half a size too small so we took it to a local jewelers to see if we could get it resized. It however didn’t come from that jeweler so they told us they had to test it to be sure they could work on it. When the lady tested it she said that the ring was not what I thought. She told me it was sterling silver (not white gold) and that the diamonds were not real; they were lab made diamonds. It was just sort of a punch in the gut.

Am I wrong for feeling a little upset? Like I’ve said I’m not a materialistic person.. I’ve never been the type of woman to ever ask him for hardly anything. I just keep thinking about what he was saying about me being a diamond and how I deserved one because I’ve never had one and what it means. Would it bother you the slightest bit?
