My story is pretty simple and no real major complications. I was due 10/28/17!! It all started at 35 weeks I went to the hospital for contractions 3 mins apart for 11hrs. I knew it wasn't time but they wanted to monitor the baby! I went and got checked/monitored and went home. From there on I continued to have contractions on and off. Then week 37 came and I was super emotional. I had my doctor appointment on 37+4 and baby was showing a high heart rate that was not decreasing. I was almost fully effaced and 3cm. They did and nst for 2hrs and decided she was okay but to monitor her movements closely as her high heart rate (170-175). I left my appointment crying and just emotional because I was just so done being pregnant! That evening went normal nothing out of the ordinary. Then I got up the next day 10/12/17 and was getting myself and my daughter ready to go work at 6a (I nanny). I turned around to go grab her socks I forgot and felt a weird flick/pop feeling but thought nothing of it until I picked her up and took a step and I soaked my self. My water was broke for sure as I was familiar with it from my 1st daughters breaking at the EXACT gestation 37+5!! Contractions started 30mins later at 3 mins apart. We called my family and had to wait a bit for my step dad to arrive so my husband and I could leave our daughter for him to watch her. Mean while my waters gushed no stop and I just sat on a yoga ball rolling my hips. We got to the hospital an hr and a half after my water had broken at 8am. Contractions began to be 1.5min apart and coming fast from there. I got checked and I was 4cm then waited for my epidural. The babies heart rate was very high still 175-185 now though. I got my first epidural it was quite painful and I remember thinking the one I had with my 1st daughter was not painful like that...turns out it just went somewhere in my body and was a total fail; after they tried convincing me it was working I finally just told them straight up no it was not working. I could feel contractions but super low in my pelvis and they were excruciating. They checked me and I was a stretchy 6cm so they went ahead with the 2nd epidural after waiting 20min to make sure the 1st really failed. They got the 2nd epidural in and it worked within one contraction and I immediately felt human again. My bp dropped to 78/48 and so they had to monitor me in case I needed meds to bring it up. Babys heart beat finally steadied at 140. It was about 11:05am by this time. Not on any pitocin just progressing by myself I started to feel contractions again and pressure at 12:20pm. The doctor checked and could feel her head and see hair.. I was 8cm almost 9cm. They rushed around getting the room all set up and by 12:45 I was 10cm. I started pushing by 12:57pm and with 5 pushes she was born at 1pm! She was 6lbs 9oz 20inches. My labor came on quick and was only 6.5hrs. I had no tears so no stitches! Her bilirubin was in the normal range and we were able to go home after 3 days. My 1st birth the placenta was in the 5th percentile for size and they sent this placenta off for testing as well as it was also only in the 5th percentile for size. They have no clue why this happens because I have no gd, or anemia, or any other factors that would cause it. The placenta for both my pregnancies were no bigger than a sandwich bag filled with liquid (best comparison I could think of).
