Returning to work after disability leave
I am returning to work soon after 3 months on short term disability. I injured my finger on my dominant hand that required pins to stabilize as it healed plus another few weeks of intense physical therapy to regain just enough motion for me to type normally. I have a corporate desk job and it's a pretty cut throats environment. Unfortunately I got injured soon after I started a new role on a new team. I had no time to prove my value. I've kept my boss updated on my health situation and she has mostly ignored me. Not even a short text to acknowledge. My company is also going through a million restructurings. I'm so scared and anxious about going back to work. Not sure how people will treat me, if they resent me, if they might plot a way to get rid of me, etc. I know worrying is silly, but I have social anxiety that I hide very well. Has anyone returned from work after some time? Can you share any tips and your experience going back? Thank you!
