We Got Pepper Sprayed....

My college decided it was a good idea to invite alt-right white supremacist Lauren Southern to talk on campus. We had a protest group of about 200 at her speech.

All we were doing was chanting when some white dude started throwing punches at protesters... but we got him out of the crowd! All we were doing was chanting

Then out of NOWHERE the police started pepper spraying the crowd! We turned around and they had a whole SWAT team behind us. Full riot gear with batons, too.

The were yelling at us to disperse and saying they'd arrest us if we didn't ... but the SWAT team wasn't letting anyone through to go past the bridge. We were stuck. There were no EMTs to help the people who had gotten the full force of pepper spray in their face.

When we finally snuck into a building to get across a bridge to catch a bus home, they had MORE police coming in to "control" this small group of college students.

THIS is the assault on free speech happening. And tomorrow it will be reported that the protest got violent. WE DID NOT. The only violence came from the one guy trying to rough up protesters, and the over militarized police.

This is NOT democracy. This is NOT a protection of free speech. This was a violent shut down of protesters who were protesting hate speech. Not an American value at all.
