Can a Non-Convert enter mosque?

Question

I was told non-Muslims cannot enter mosque in Morocco. Here in America, I've heard of non-Muslim people that have entered and prayed in a mosque. Which is the correct practice? Please suggest ways a Non convert can become part of "the community" or get lessons on Qur'an/Islam?

I've visited my OH's mosque and I'm Christian. Just be prepared to take your shoes off and cover you head if needed, though I didn't have to do the latter. I found them extremely welcoming and looking forward to returning. Good luck x

You can most definitely enter a mosque. Since the election we have had many Christians of our community come to the mosque and show us support. We actually have one woman who comes every Friday! She wears a head scarf and mimics are movements while we pray. A mosque is a house of Allah swt. No one is excluded.

Josie, I’ve done a quick google search and basically the only mosque non-Muslims are not to enter is Masjid Al-Haraam in Mecca. Other mosques may also prevent  non-Muslims however the majority basically say as long as the person is there with good intentions and respectful you’re welcomed. Meaning don’t go to cause trouble. I would look up and find your local mosques. And email them or call if they have numbers available. Some have websites that have so much information on programs and such. Just reach out and they should welcome you with open arms and help you learn all you wish to learn about Islam. Don’t be afraid to visit different mosques if you have more than one around you.
