When to go to hospital?

Question

For those that experienced back labor, how did you know when to go to the hospital? I’m having pretty good consistent back cramping, that gets worse on and off but I don’t know when to start timing them to know if I need to be checked. I’m 40 weeks + 4 days.

I was visiting my friend in ER and my husband made me go upstairs. I was trying to go home because I didn't think it was time but it was.

Have you had any water break yet? I remember with my daughter I was about 37 weeks and my I had a small hush of what I thought (tmi) was CM but it was like two teaspoons of fluid from my sac. I started having contractions but they weren’t painful. I timed them until they were 2-3 minutes apart then I went to the hospital. They admitted me and I went into full labor the next day  (I know 😳🙄) pushed for 3 hours lol then finally had her right at 2pm.
