To hire or not hire a doula

I’ve gone back and forth on getting a doula. I’m a ftm and have interviewed one doula already who seemed determined to prepare me for a c-section for some reason (no indication I’d need one, one baby and we are both healthy and I don’t want one) but I’m sure they are not all like that. I want the support bc my husband, though wonderful and helpful, is a man of few words and shy. He’s not one to speak up and more of a peacemaker. I need an advocate but also want to give hubs the chance to step into his role as my partner in birth. Advice?
