Should wait staff have to tip the bartender?

This is now becoming an issue at my place of employment and I would like to hear people’s views and opinions.

I think everyone should just be paid a livable wage and tipping should only be done if the customer feels the service was worth it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon, so I say anyone that contributes to service who is paid below minimum wage that results in a tip should get part of the tip. 
Honestly, I wish restaurants would let customers know their tipping protocol. I personally, would tip the bartender separately if I knew the waiter would have to share their tip. I recently found out that Sonic carhops make waiting wages and depend on tips; I've been there so many times and never knew, so never tipped there! Made me feel like crap.
I never go out to eat, especially with my kids, if a tip isn't in the budget.

I feel like when people go to the bar they should tip the bartenders themselves.
The only tipping that I sometimes see as fair is tipping busboys if one actually helped cleaned the tables and such

Yes. Anyone who helps you make your tips: bussers, expos, bartender, needs to be tipped a percentage of what you made at the end of your shift.

As the server, are you the one making all those drinks? No. So the bartenders should be tipped out. If anyone has ever been a bartender, they would know that they basically live off tips. As do servers. It’s only fair.

Bartenders receive their own tips when patrons sit at the bar... There job is to make drinks for the whole restaurant (what they get paid a wage for). I have been a server prior for years, and worked in the industry, and my mother is still a server (since 13). Servers are required (most times), to tip out so many different people, they end up giving away a handful of their own money. So in short, no I don't believe tipping a bartender (as a server), should be required.

All front of house staff that are making min wage or under should be tipped out if they are contributing to the service. If the bartender makes the drinks at some point for a table then tip them out. The host seats and busses, tip them out. Etc. At my restaurant the bartender makes the lemonade so even if they don’t make alcoholic drinks for tables people still order lemonade that they make, so they should be tipped out for that.
