Know the symptoms
I had a c section back on 10/6 and had a healthy beautiful baby girl 💕 little did I know, I was gonna be leaking spinal fluid from my spinal block. Before leaving the hospital I mentioned my intense migraines it to my nurse and she informed me its a side effect of the Norco they prescribed me for pain. So I brushed it off and was discharged from the hospital with my baby girl. The next day I knew something wasn't right considering I stopped taking the painkillers because the migraines were worse than the c section pain! I called my ob and she said to go to the ER for a blood patch. A blood patch basically is when they draw blood from you and put the big ass needle in your back (as if you're getting another epidural/spinal block) and pump the blood into that area to create an internal scab. Went in for a patch, and wasn't able to get enough blood (needed 20cc only got 13cc) due to the nurse blowing 4 veins because she was rushing to fill her vials. Was sent home, and I'm STILL dealing with migraines! So today, I go back for another blood patch. I'm dreading it, but I wanted to share this with you all so you can just handle it while you're in the hospital and have nurses to help with your newborn.
