Van life traveling

So I really wanna invest in a van and make it into a little home and travel the world! It's been a dream of mine and I really wanna make it happen. I'm 22 and have a 9 month old baby and me and his dad are split up so the problem is I know he'd make a huge deal about me leaving and traveling cause how would he see his son? I'm just trying to think of how to do this

Any tips or ideas?
