103 fever

My daughter is 14 months. She has had cold symptoms for 3 days and threw up in the night two days ago. This morning she had a fever of 39ish (about 103). I called the doctor and the nurse told me that since she was breathing fine, was eating, drinking and wetting diapers that I could give her a little Motrin and call back If she gets worse or her fever doesn't go away in 2 days. I can't help but be worried, she is now acting totally normal after her Motrin. Am I doing the right thing!? ** She gets a fever with every cold she's had.
