Am I asking too much?!?

We have a three week old and he has been skipping naps and constantly feeding... my husband works from home and I'm getting so resentful of him... he sleeps through the night... maybe does two diaper changes but im up all night feeding little man then my husband will sleep till noon because "he is so tired" which causes him to work till 7 or 8 at night when I could really use a break! Meanwhile the house is a mess and it's mainly HIS messes ( clean laundry on the floor and his dishes in the sink)

Working with home has benefits but there needs to be a set schedule... 8-4 or 9-5. Then its family time aka equal parenting responsibilities. It happens with many men, they don't really "grow up" until they have kids.

My husband TRIED that with me! His company is very family orientated so they gave him 3 months at home with minimal work. He’d go down stairs to “work” and make a mess then complain his doing nothing but when night time came and it was his turn to look after the baby he would say “ I’m sooo tired and I need to wake up early to do some work”

I reminded him that he works from home now and I wasn’t the one. He tried to blackmail me talking abt his mother looked after all her children and cooked for their dad everyday. I corrected him by reminding him that I am NOT his mother and will not accept this behavior.

I honestly don’t know what he thought having a baby would be like but he sure learned.

It is very frustrating especially when breastfeeding. I've often felt like a single parent. At first, hubby would get up to change baby sometimes and bring to me to feed. After a few weeks he backed off tremendously. This didn't last long as I was exhausted, frustrated, and angry. After several talks and communicating honestly, sometimes brutally honest 😂, we kinda have it worked out that he does the bath for baby and watches baby while I cook supper etc. Doesn't sound like a lot but it really helps me to have a break from baby and that he contributes too. He also does his own laundry and helps with the dishes. It's a huge adjustment, and will continue to be, until you're all happy with the compromises. Just remember to always forgive and move on. Since he works from home you need to smack him lol he has no excuse. My husband works 5am till sometimes 10pm and will still cook me breakfast on his day off and help me around but I don't really let him since I'm a stay home wife. You need to talk to him he can't expect to live that way forever it should be equal for the both of you.

Are you a SAHM or are you working outside the home all day? Because working from home in addition to caring for a baby is a whole new level of challenging. I do it every day while my husband is at work and just because I’m home, doesn’t mean I’m able to clean up every single mess. I’m working. So my husband does all of the cooking when he comes home from work and helps a ton with cleaning as well.  
If you’re just a SAHM then it shouldn’t be too challenging to care for your son while he works. It sounds like some of the chores should be divided up better but if he’s the only income your family has then he needs to have that uninterrupted work time and he needs to be sleeping well at night. And so what if he says he’s tired? My husbands tired from working all day too. We both are. So don’t play the “who has it worse” card. If you need him to pick up after himself more then say it. If you need a break then add that break to your joint schedule.
