Should I feel guilty

I run in home daycare. Currently I have a client who is off work on stress leave. I still take her child 5 days a week. Today my child spiked a really high fever. She knew my child was sick when she dropped her daughter off and said "if it gets bad call me". About 2.5 hours into our day my baby had a high enough fever for me to call her doctor and I ended up calling my client to come get her kid. I told her she wouldn't have to pay for the day. My girlfriend (also a care provider) says I acted totally unprofessional and I should feel bad. I am not sure though, if her mom was at work I would have called in back-up and kept her kid. Thoughts?
