Best Time/Place for our Baby Shower???

So, I’ve been really stressed trying to plan a baby shower for our little girl, this will be our first baby. She’s due on January 26 so I’m about 6 months along right now.

My options are somewhat limited for a venue. It has to be indoors because I live in Colorado so it is COLD and snowy outside these next few months!! We can’t pay to rent a place out, we just dont have the money for it, and I’m thinking about 60 people for the shower, I’m doing all sides of the family at one shower.

I’m just thinking December in general is a terrible time for a shower because it’s so close to Christmas.

So.. You can rent out a room at the library for free so long as you don’t trash it, and that would definitely be big enough to hold everyone. However, its all booked up this whole month so if I want to do it at the library it’s going to have to be January. I’m thinking early, like the first weekend. My problem with this is that she could come early, and I’m afraid she might come before the shower. You never know!

I work at a restaurant, and my boss said I could have the shower there if I want to. There’s not a separate room like some restaurants have but we could use half the restaurant for a shower. Its all very open, so it would be KIND OF private. But not as much as I would maybe like. People can be weird.. But the benefit of having it there is that I could do it really any time this month. And I’m kind of liking that idea because one of my cousins mentioned that if I have the shower now, before Christmas, then around Christmas time if there’s still things we need we can ask for that for Christmas. Having the shower in January doesn’t leave hardly any time for that..

So.. Yeah!! That’s my thought process. I’d really appreciate some feedback, suggestions, outside opinions, etc!
