Domestic violence in teen couples. Which parent would be more effective to intervene?

I’m currently watching a show where the mom and dad are sort of preoccupied with themselves to notice that their teenage daughter has entered the early stages of an abusive relationship.
The girl in the show is no more than 16. So in cases of domestic violence in teens which parent should intervene and help the daughter not only get out of the situation but also find her herself and help make her stronger so she knows not to put up with this in the future?
Is it just one parent’s guidance is needed over the other or is it a combination of both?
Side note: the parents don’t fight and never verbally or physically abuse one another in any way.

If there are two parents, it should be a combined effort. But one parent just might get through to the kid better than the other. I was 16 when I entered my relationship that turned very violent and abusive. I love my mother, but she wasn’t as successful as my step dad when it came to helping me see how messed up my relationship was. This was because I saw her in the same type of relationship before she met my stepdad so it kind of didn’t even phase me when she told me he was incredibly controlling.

I was in my first abusive relationship at 16. I would never have confided in my parents because there was too much judgement. There also seems to be a pattern where your parents are abusive to each other so it leaves a young girl more inclined to accidentally enter one of these relationships. Support groups were what saved me personally. Even if my parents were 100% normal like you say (nobody’s parents are), kids don’t like listening to their parents opinions about significant others, in my opinion.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t be both parents responsible to help their child? And under 18 they are still a child and would need to abide by any rules their parents had put in place for their safety.

I feel like this depends on the child’s relationship with their parents. I avoided any mention of my abuse by my first bf...at 16...with my dad because I knew that he already had a racial bias against Latino men, so I did not want to reinforce that bias. I also avoided my mother because I felt inadequate going to her, a strong independent woman who would never be caught dead in my situation. 
I ended up reaching out to help groups for most of the support I needed, confiding in siblings, and eventually went to my mom first because we had a stronger bond when it came to something personal like my relationships. 
If the relationship is fine with both parents I think it should be a joint effort, but mainly that whoever the kid has a stringer more comfortable bond with should lead.

Sometimes teens are more comfortable talking about personal stuff with one parent. But this would definitely be combined effort if it was my kids.
