I'm confused

So my fiance and I had some love time earlier yesterday to try and jump start my period since I'm well over due and no bfps, and I started spotting after and some minor cramping. So I thought it was my period finally starting! Now there's nothing but clear egg white looking cm? wth. there was even a bright red dot on the tissue and now nothing at all! anyone have this happen? sorry for the tmi took another test and it's a BFN.
