anyone have their tubes tied?

After I have this little new addition to our family I want to be officially done with having kids. I'm good with stopping at three. I don't really know much about it. I've read somethings but I'd like to hear some personal stories with it. Anyone had it done right after delivery? How was the healing process and what kind of tips would you recommend. I'm very nervous about it since I've never had a surgery in my life. Are you asleep for this procedure or just heavily drugged? Id like to breast feed so I'm hoping that this wouldn't interfere with me being able to feed the baby within the first hour or be on medication that would prevent that for me. And I want to make sure it's permanent. I heard things about tubes growing back, and I'd like to prevent any of that happening. Any thing will help. Thank you in advance.
