Not taking maternity leave?!??

Okay ladies, so I’m due Dec. 17th and I️ haven’t had to work my whole pregnancy. My boyfriends grandmothers caregiver quit recently and offered the job to me because I️ have all the certification already. She’s bed ridden and I’ll have to clean her, do light house work and just make sure she eats. Because it’s family I️ can have baby with me after I️ have her, but I️ just wanted to know what you all thought about it. This is my first baby so I’m not sure what to expect. I’m suppose to start Wednesday.

Hopefully you will take a little time off? Labor is not easy on the body.. your not supposed to even lift much the first few weeks... I remember the whole first month after my baby was born being so exhausted. And when the baby would nap, I had a hard time deciding do I nap, shower or feed myself.  Most people aren't even cleared to work out or even work till 6 weeks with a natural birth.. not saying you won't feel great by then, just make sure you give yourself a little time to heal and figure out life with a baby..

I would still take a little time off just to let your body heal and get use to a newborn. I went back to school a week after I had my first and almost lost my mind.
