40 weeks and worried

So I will be 40 on Thursday and I had my check up today. The doctor says I’m not effaced or dilated yet. They are concerned about me going naturally and have me coming back on Friday to strip the membrane. If still no progress I will be induced on the 14. This is my second baby. Should I be worried that I’m not effaced or dilated yet? I heard stripping the membrane hurts and doesn’t always work. I’m just concerned as to how labor will be. Baby has also measured 2 weeks ahead of schedule for the last 4 months. So I’m hoping I won’t have too big of a baby.
