How to suggest we try w/out a condom?

My last bf and I had sex a few times w/out a condom, and it was nice. Luckily, he was the one to suggest it. He was a very forward guy and that worked perfectly for me because I'm very shy and have social anxiety so it's difficult for me to initiate anything.

I want to try not using one with my current bf but I'm having trouble working up the courage to mention it, and the problem is that he's not forward at all. It took him forever to make a move on me when we first got together. How can I casually bring it up/hint at it?
