Do you need Science to confirm something before you believe it?

Question

We’re living in an age where people question everything and don’t believe in anything unless there’s a double blind study done on it... so do you need science to confirm something is real/true/exists before you believe it? 
Example:
Afterlife 
Extraterrestrials (supported by science?)
The standard American diet is deficient 
Climate change (I realize even after scientists have said this is real, some people still don’t believe which I find even more interesting..)
Feel free to use your own examples!

Understand and accept, yes. 
For example:
I believe in God. Science can not adequately prove nor disprove this. 
I understand and accept the science of climate change.

Anyone can believe anything, science helps confirm it and understand it. 
   
I️ believe in God, but I️ don’t try to prove this to anyone because it isn’t necessary to prove or understand.

You can choose to believe facts or not. 
Aliens, I believe they exist because it's supports by science and logic. Believing that we are the only living beings in the universe is pretty dumb. I think that a microorganism was found in mars? Or something like that. That's an alien right there. 
I'm not even surprised when people from the dark ages invade the internet just to say "vaccines are poison!" "I don't believe in technology or science!"..lol. 
I personally need proof or logic to believe something. Just like religion, you believe it but there's no proof at all to even argue for or against to begin with. It's just something you believe in (believing or not is cool). Not accepting facts is a bit bizarre to me in the other hand.

Definitely not.
Some scientists can be bias and out to prove their hypothesis. In a general sense, they've been wrong and right in the past, so I don't completely trust what they conclude to.

No, I believe in a lot of things without scientific evidence. God, the paranormal, extra terrestrials. Science is there to explain things we can see, touch, smell, observe, etc. Belief is there for things we cannot.

many of us can deduce from choices of possibility or probability on whether or not we believe something without needing specific scientific backing. climate change and diet both have scientific backing. but like your example of is there extraterrestrial life or not, I can look at how infinite the universe seems to be and rule that as a very possible scenario. I think you also used the after life as one of the questions. I find it a lot less likely since the soul can't really be accounted for, if it exists. our world is processed through a series of electrical currents in our mind, so I'm not sure how a soul would work. but, again, I can't disprove it so it leaves it down to a possible, however very unlikely that it may be to me.
