Cold weather joint pain?

so two days ago I woke up several times throughout the night freezing, when I got up in the morning my hips and knees were in so much pain and I checked the thermostat and our house tempurature was 61 degrees. since then we've turned up the heat but the pain in right knee has not subsided, other knee and hips are fine now. why would my one knee still be in so much pain? if this has happened to you what did you do to treat it? I do not have medical insurance and can't go to a doctor for it so I'm asking you all for advice. thanks in advance.
