Should incest have jail time?

I just read on the news, two women (mother and daughter) plead guilty. The daughter (28) was sentenced to 10 years probation. The mother is facing 10 years in prison!

Here’s my view. Sure, it’s gross. But you know what? If two people are of age and willingly want to be with someone in their family, who am I to judge? No I’d never ever do it. But I personally don’t think thats terms for jail.. what did they do wrong? Nothing.

If I found out today my husband was my brother, full blood brother, I wouldn’t leave him.

I think it’s gross when two family members knowingly enter a relationship but they aren’t hurting anyone and recent studies have shown that incest children are not going to come out any different than any other child.

Anyways, do you think it should be a cause for jail time?

Edit: I’m not sure where I read the story, it was last year about myths of incest. But that’s not the point! We aren’t talking about people having children, I’m just talking about the general idea of someone being with their family member.
