Is circumcision really that necessary? Please dont start a debate..

I am not looking for arguments, I am just curious as to what to do. I am pregnant with my 5th child and we find out the gender soon. I have all girls so never had to worry about this but I feel like this is a boy and if it is im torn about circumcision.

My husband was circumcised aged 2 because he got some sort of infection. Personally, I find circumcised penises to "look" more hygenic and i prefer my man to be done. My step son wasnt circumcised because his Mom didnt believe in it and my husband has no preference he doesnt care either way. I was adament at first that I would want my baby circumcised but made a BAD decision to watch it get done on youtube

And now... I am traumatised. It looked incredibly painful. I dont wanna subject my kid to pain like that but idk maybe i just saw a really scary video and its not that bad irl? idk! what do u think? i need some advice or stories from those who have circumcised their child (experiences) and those who didn't....

I haven’t had a son, but if the baby I’m pregnant with now is a boy, he won’t be circumcised. I really don’t think it’s necessary at all. My husband isn’t circumcised and hasn’t experienced any issues. In my opinion, it should only be done if medically necessary.

Nope. you wouldn't cut off a baby girls clitoral hood, so don't cut the same bit of skin off a baby boy.

your son isn't going to remember the pain . he will be fine. I will be having it done to any boys I have.

No real benefit. He may not remember it, but I have seen too many friends need extra medical care due to infected penises and lopsided healing after circumcision.

If it were medically necessary it would be recommended by ALL doctors to be done upon birth of the child, which it is not. There’s no concrete proof that one is better than the other. I’ve done so much research on this topic. Watch Penn and Tellers “bullshit” episode on it. It has a lot of good information on the topic.

Necessary? No. Good idea? Yes.             Am I going to argue with someone who comments disagreeing with me? No.

I told my husband that was the one decision he had to make on his own for our son. I feel like I will never know enough for that decision. Also, the only people I see debating the issue are women who also will never fully understand because they don't have penises.

Technically, it is a considered cosmetic procedure & not medically necessary. However, will I have my baby circumsized if it's boy? Yes
