Navel piercing and pregnancy - should I take the sucker out????

Hey ladies, 
A bit of a vain question but let’s not pretend our self esteem doesn’t effect us all lol
Have you been pregnant with a belly bar? I’m looking for experiences from other women or maybe even stories from midwives as this is my first...
I have a belly ring and I love it and don’t want to part with it. But I’ve heard it will give you a few nasty stretch marks around your navel if you don’t remove it, or that it will stretch the hole out like mad. I’ve even heard it can rip itself/push itself out entirely! 
What are your experiences?

I took mine out around 33 weeks because my skin was super stretching and the hole was veominh flat and it felt bothered. No stretch marks around it and the hole is open..just gonna pop it back in after birth

Mine is still in 4th pregnancy! Almost 36 weeks. It’s only been out for 2 mri in past and 2 surgeries.

Even prior to pregnancy I used to take my belly button ring out for months at a time . I had it for around 10 years so it does t grow over . 
My hood piercing is what I’m worrying about . Idk how to take it out . I never did . And now I’m 31 weeks pregnant and I couldn’t see down there If I tried ! LOL . 🤷🏻‍♀️ so is just gonna leave it in the docs hands .

My hole stretched really bad!! If I wear a belly bar now it just makes my skin sag it’s gross lol

i just took mine out. the top part was starting to get irritated. made it pretty far though 31-32 weeks.

I'd remove it.. I've seen pictures of women's navel piercings that they kept to full term.. and they look pretty gross.

I took mine out around 15 weeks I think? And I still ended up with two stretch marks in the shape of an X over it, they are my only stretch marks I have on my belly as well. It’s up to you what you want to do, I’m just not sure if the chance of getting stretch marks on it is avoidable

I took mine out in second tri. I just didn’t want my hole to stretch and I’ve had it in so long that the hole won’t close anyways. After I give birth I’ll put it back in.
