What would YOU do?

Question

Yes. I know this decision is up to me and my husband. I know I can’t make a decision based on what strangers on an app say. That is not my intention for posting thing question. I’m just curious to know if y’all think I’m being irresponsible or dramatic about my situation. 
I’ve been nannying for the same family for 5 years. The boys are 5 and 2.5. The family takes good care of me financially and benefit-wise. I love them dearly. However, they don’t discipline their children. I mean, they DONT believe in discipline, at all. They think “peaceful parenting” and “redirecting” is better than consequences. I don’t even need to say more. The job is so stressful for me because of this. The kids do WHATEVER they want and it’s extremely difficult every day. 
I’m now 22 weeks pregnant with our first baby. Things have been ok. I’ve been trying to just pick my battles and do everything I can to keep my own stress level down despite the stress everyday from the kids. 
The initial plan was to stop in December (when I’m 28 weeks). Now the family wants to know if I WANT to stay until the end of January (32 weeks). They have other options for childcare but want to know if I’d like to stay at make the extra money. 
Naturally, I want to make as much money as I can for as long as I can, but the fact that the children are extremely undisciplined means my job gets physically intense at times. For example, the two year old fights getting in his car seat, etc. So, I have to put strength into getting him in. Lately, since my tummy is getting bigger, I’ve been kicked in the tummy by him (with shoes one) during his tantrums. Also, because they don’t listen, they’ll often run away from me in public and I’ll have to chase them which is getting more and more difficult for me as I get bigger. 
We live with my parents currently. Not because we financially NEED to, but because they offered for us so they can be here to help the baby and we can continue to save for our house!! So, we have a little financial wiggle room. My husband has a good job, but obviously if I worked an extra month, that’s an extra month of money to have saved before baby comes!
Ok so my question is, WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

I'm a nanny too!! :) If it were me, I'd tell the family that I've enjoyed working for them and and appreciate all they've done for me, however, due to the physical aspect of the job (chasing them in public and getting kicked), you don't think it's wise to risk it.

Explain that because you are pregnant you need parents to discipline their.child. You do not deserve.to be subject to physical harm.

Personally I’d stay as long as I was comfortable. I continued working a month longer than planned which helped me bc i didnt run out of my spending money until thr week i went back. I liked the option of being able to buy a ton of crap for baby without SO makinh fun of me, and that i was able to surprise him with a delivery gift and an anniversary gift.

I worked 16 hour shifts working as a manager in a warehouse right up until the day my water broke. Everyone is different, I went back to work as soon as my 6 week check up gave me the clearance. Just do what u feel is best.

I would say keep working until you can't any longer but I would definitely have a conversaation with the parents about the safety of yourself and your little one. tell them about the kicking and what not and maybe they will have a talk with the children to explain to them that there is a new baby growing in your belly and they need to understand. maybe that could be something the kids can help you with. if it were me, I would find a children's book about adapting to a new baby so that they will start to understand and make it something that they can do to help you. I've noticed that even kids that age, if you give them to option to help in any situation, it redirects their focus and stops most tantrums.

You have to do what is best for you and your baby. The more stress you are under the more likely you are to go into labor early. The extra money would be nice but if something were to happen to your babies well being because of their behavior money wouldn’t matter.

I’m a nanny also, I’m pretty straight forward and open with parents in terms of acceptable behaviour whilst also respecting their discipline methods. I would tell them, that if you were to continue working, something needs to change with how the kids behave, because for your wellbeing it’s not safe to have them throwing physical tantrums around you. There should be mutual respect between a nanny and a family, it should be professional and the family should be able to respect your professionalism and experience with deal with behavioural issues. Make sure if you approach any subject you have facts. But I wouldn’t stay in the job if the children were uncontrollable and I was pregnant.

I wouldn’t continue it’s just one more month . If you can afford it why put yourself through the stress. I worked in daycare until 34 weeks and was going through similar situation with lifting kids on changing table, kicking etc. I was going to stop sooner but for some reason I didn’t and it would have been fine either way.
