Trying to conceive and so frustrated!

So me and my husband have to get pregnant since June of 2016, we both have a child from a previous relationship so we know we can both have a child. Ever since going off birth control when we started trying my periods have been about 60 days apart. Before hand my period was every 30-31 days. I finally went to the dr and are getting my hormones tested etc... does anyone have a similar experience after being on birth control for awhile? I’m so frustrated. All I’ve wanted want a positive test and it’s been so discouraging as the months have pasted.
