So a very close friend of mind lost her children to CPS after her and their father spilt up. He and his family apparently had pictures ( some of which he posted on Facebook) of her home in a complete mess. Dirty laundry, rotting food on the stove, not so clean bathroom, stuff like that. She was pregnant when this all went down and as soon as she had the baby, cps took him from the hospital. A couple months later she was back in court and she was told that she needed to get her new place ready for inspection, if they were to even give her kids back. She wasn't working and since DH and I had our son's crib and older kids' bunk bed in storage, we gladly gave it to her when she asked. My husband even spent the day setting everything up for her. She passed the inspection but had a few more mandatory parental classes to do. Suddenly she moves the dead beat baby father in with her and claimed the court told her the only way to get her kids back is if they make their relationship work. I really didn't bother fighting down the truth because it's been years of back and forth drama with those two, so really, why bother right? What angered me though, was the fact that he didn't like us giving her beds for their kids so he threw out what we gave her. I wasn't worried about the bunk bed but the crib was brand new. My son must've slept in it 4 times. I'm pregnant and due in January, that crib would've came in handy but even if that wasn't the case, how dare he? how dare she let him come in and throw things out he didn't pay for? He didn't even try to help her, in fact he was trying to help his mother gain custody of their kids and it worked, the kids are with their grandmother. My husband and I helped, we transported the beds to her, we built them, we helped her pass inspection and she allowed him to come in and spit on our efforts. I'm more disappointed than angry though. I expected better from her, especially since this should be about the kids. Due to not having beds, she failed her last inspection and now have less than a week to replace what he threw away and would you believe she had the audacity to ask me to ask my husband to loan them money? Yea ok. I don't even know if I wanna remain friends. I'm tired of being a pawn in their games.
