I voted no after reading the post about the vegan person who thought periods were unhealthy to have.

Nope. I’m expecting people to say it’s not important to talk about, but I think if periods were heavily discussed it would mean that the horrible side effects like crippling cramps (the kind that keep girls at home with pain), birthcontrol being used to stop that pain, regulate periods etc. 
I’d also like for there to be more discussion about different methods of period products. Like diva cups, tampons, pads, reusable products etc. I had no idea before this app that there were reusable products🤷🏻‍♂️. 
I also have met many a people who plain and simple treat women who are on their periods differently. I think open discussion regarding, of course not table talk, periods would make that treatment perhaps less common. 
Kind of weird right?? That guy’s would at all treat me like I’m a nonsensical goat simply because I asked a gal pal if she had tampons. It’s like??? Y’all think wombs sit pretty 365 days a year?  I think maybe more open discussion would fight that stigma. That women are just emotional and irrational.

No they aren’t. Too many men still cringe at the slight reference to a period. They gon have to get use to it.

No, they're also not talked about early on when they should be. I started puberty when I was 9 and started my period the day before my 10th birthday. Nobody, including family and school had even mentioned the word period to me. Because of this I thought I was literally dying and didn't tell anybody for like almost the whole week. Didn't even go to my own birthday party.
Children need to be made aware of the natural things that will happen to their body way before it happens so they can be prepared and don't end up having a panic attack when it's all thrown into them at once. To us it seems like a normal thing but to a child who hasn't experienced it yet, it's a huge deal if you bleed out of your vagina lmao.
Also boys need to be sat in the same puberty lesson as girls so they can all learn about the human body together. That way periods might be less stigmatised.

No they are not.  When my niece moved in with me @ 12 she was almost scared to let me know she needed pads.  I’ve been open & honest, almost a little to open about mine, because I want her to be comfortable and not feel like it’s a bad thing. I’ll do the same with my two younger daughters as well.

In my adult life I haven’t felt the need to make it a topic of conversation, but then my husband is a well adjusted mature adult and I don’t have any personal need to discuss it with anyone beyond him or my doctor so not sure why I would need to talk about it more now.
If we are talking about normalizing it at an earlier age for adolescent males and females then probably yes, more education is needed. I think just basic understanding of how the body works and understanding it is healthy and normal is lacking. I feel like when parents have the puberty talk with their kids they might focus only on the sex of that child, but everyone would be better off if that talk also included what the opposite sex is going through.

No way. I was just told I will bleed once a month and to keep it secret. Sex Ed was a tad more detailed.
