Does brown blood for 5 days count as a period?

A week before I was suppose to start my period I got a discharge of brown blood next day it seemed as if I would get my period either that day or the next but instead the next day it was brown still and then the next day it was brown with pink redish color then went back to brown . still haven't had my period is it possible that was my period?
