Times intercourse cycle cancelled due to too many follicles

My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for two years. I have PCOS and been on metformin for a year and half. My husband has no issues on his side. This cycle is our fourth with fertility assistance. I took letrozole 5mg and then 300iu of follistim. Today when I went in for my ultrasound I had 6 mature follicles. The doctor just called and told me not to trigger tonight due to overstimulation. Should my husband and I still try on our own or take the trigger shot anyways? Both my husband and I would like to have twins or triplets.
