IUD birth control?

Is anyone here on IUD birth control? Any side effects? Is it good? Does it hurt when you have sex? Has it hurt your partner? I’m thinking on going on this kind of birth control but need more insight?? Thank you!!

I have had skyla for pretty much 7 months now. only real side effect I have is it has hightened my bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression. but I am also not on medication. no weight gain however no weight loss till I started restricting my calories. my husband feels the strings quite often but they only poke him. I can have the. shortened but since the have a tendency to curl up I don't want to make it harder later on when I decide to have it removed. other than that I can't think of anything else.

I had mirena for 7.5 years. LOVED it. I can't think of any side affects other than some cramping when I first got it in (nurse gave me the great advice of taking ibuprophine half an hour before my appointment to help with that). I guess technically lighter periods (or even no periods) and greatly reduced menstrual cramps count as a side affect, but great side affects haha. It didn't hurt me or my partner during sex.

Following! I’m curious as well! My sister has it and she said her partner can feel it in some positions and it hurts him when it pokes him but i want to get others opinions to see if this happens with everyone 😭
