First Ultrasound at 8 weeks Vaginal or Abdominal?

I am having my first ultrasound this week and I will be 8 weeks. If you had an ultrasound at 8 weeks was it vaginal or abdominal? With my first child my first ultrasound was at 6 weeks and they did it vaginally. Thanks in advance! 😊

My abdominal at 7w4d! Wee bean popped up straight away on the screen. She says baby is big strong and healthy for only being this early ❤️ there was no need for a TV examination

Probably vaginal, especially if you're with the same OB. My OB always tries abdominal first but switches to vaginal as needed. I had an abdominal-only ultrasound at 9w2d, my first appointment. At that stage, she was able to see everything she needed (not multiples, not ectopic, definite baby in there, little heartbeat flutter visible). Congrats, mama! ❤️

They usually don't switch to abdominal until 12-13 weeks as baby is too small to be seen abdominally until that point! :)
