Weave?! I need to know more!

I'm looking into getting a weave. I have 3b/3c hair and I really want to just tuck that all away for a bit. I have wanted longer hair for a bit now and I have done quite a bit of research on weaves but I'm still a little confused. I have a few questions such as: What to call 'weave hair extensions'?, what type of hair is beat for a sew in?, where to get this hair, how to find somebody that's good?. If any of you could answer these questions, as well as leaving your tips and trickd I would appreciate it! Please and thank you!
