How correct is an early gender ultrasound?

Question

I was at my doctor’s for a 15 weeks visit to check the heart beat and she couldn’t detect it so she sent me down to ultrasound to have a look (thank god nothing was wrong the baby was just all the way backed into the back of the uterus pushed up against the placenta). Anyways the ultrasound tech asked if she could tell the sex would I want to know I impatiently and eagerly said yes! To my disappointment she said she was very positive the baby has a penis. I really want a girl! So please cam someone anyone tell me how accurate it is at this early of development?

She said she was sure I would believe her. 
To be honest I am quiet surprised at your reaction to this considering at the start of the appointment you would have thought your baby was dead, even if only for a short while, then you find out the sex and you are upset it’s not the right sex? I would think the shock of possibly losing your baby might make you more grateful either way. 
Gender disappointment is real but just the backstory to this post has made it quite shocking to me :/

I found out at 16 weeks I was having a girl

Not accurate. I couldn’t  even get an accurate gender scan at my 19 week scan and I’m still unsure if baby is boy or girl at almost 31 weeks.

15 weeks...pretty accurate. And if they get it wrong, it is usually girls. not boys. 😣😣😣 I hope you get your girl next time.
