Good question. Medically there is no research on that. 
Smoking anything carries a cardiovascular risk. Even with that risk, even cigs aren’t really a big deal on birth control unless you have another added condition that could get worse. 
We will say for brevity’s sake that yes, it carries the same risks sure. But are they that risky? No. I smoked both weed and cigs on birth control and never ever had an issue. It only begins to be more serious of an issue if you are over 35.

I'm on the pill and smoke weed. I don't get my period as often because of the pill, and my cramps don't hurt as bad because of the weed😂
