Have women really become hopeless romantics? On Saturday Me and a couple of my friends were all hanging out (took our kids to the playground and out to have an ice cream) and of course along with us was the one guy that we all know. We were discussing relationships and how someone who is invested will respond to a relationship compared to someone who isn’t fully invested.

This is when he blurted out: Women are just a bunch of hopeless romantics. You guys throw caution to the wind and listen to your hearts and not your heads. Women are so emotional. Y’all aren’t based in logic.

So I sat there and thought about what he said. It was a straight up insult to women IMO but everyone laughed it off except me and a few others. But I was the only one who challenged him. He kept going on and on saying

“Women don’t think they just do. Acting on feelings isn’t very smart, that’s how a lot of you guys end up in the situations you do. A bunch of kids and a shitty man who doesn’t take care of his responsibilities. How about make a guy take you out on a date every week until you get to know him? Don’t get too emotionally or physically involved with him until you’ve met his family. Stop jumping in bed and marrying strangers and acting surprised when things don’t work out. Be more picky. When a man shows you that he is a piece of shit believe him. Stop trying to dress the piece of shit up and call it chocolate. Men can’t be fixed. Some of us are good some of us aren’t. It’s up to women to use your heads and be rational.”

He went on to say that women weren’t always hopeless romantics. He says this has occurred over the last 20 years. He believes women were stronger mentally and emotionally prior to now.

Needless to say. Him and I had a heated debate and we just don’t see eye to eye. His views are different. Do you agree? Disagree?
