Who's in the right?

He's arguing with me about Christmas. Our home towns are different so we take it in turns spending Christmas with each family. Still making sure to see the other either before or afterwards. This year its my turn. But he doesn't want to.
Last year we moved in together, altho spent it with his as it was his turn. This year he says he spends all year with me so he wants to see his family. He wants to be apart and him go to them and me stay and see mine.
I get that he hasn't seen them much but he hasn't taken time off work to do so. Which is his own doing. And being Christmas I feel like its not just any old weekend its special and I want to be with him for it.

Let him go... if you aren’t married or have children then you really don’t have the right to tell him to stay. I get that you all had a deal but people get sappy and miss home around the holidays. Let him spend this time with his family and if you all get married or have kids then you can figure out something.

If my boyfriend and I’s hometowns were different, I’d definitely opt to spend it with my family and let him go see his family. Once we’re married that would probably change, but as of right now, I see him all the time but I don’t see my family all the time. I’d pick them over him for christmas for sure.

This would hurt me. Holidays should be spent together. If last year he was with his family then this year it should be your family. Can’t their be some sort of compromise?

i think its odd he doesnt want to be together. but i get that choosing family for holidays sucks. my hubby always wants to do just the three of us but we rotate years being with my parents. this year my bro and wife are due with their first the 21st but dont want any visitors for 6 weeks so we arent going that way and mom and dad arent coming this way. compromise!

My husband and I are from different home towns and we spend Christmas with our own families separately. I may go to his house for a day at the beginning of our vacation and he may come to mine for a day at the end but the majority of the time we are apart. Because of this we do our own Christmas before we leave for vacation. We spend the day with dinner and presents and a movie. I don’t see my family often and my sister lives in California and I live in Michigan so I cherish the time I get to send with her. Family is important and I definitely understand his point of view.
