D&C one week ago, still clotting?

Hi ladies
I had a MC at 10 weeks and then had a D&C; last Monday. I’m still bleeding and passing clots. Did this happen to anyone else? I thought the D&C; was supposed to clean everything out?

I bled heavy on and off for first week after and then lighter second week. Give it Time. Had period 30 days after procedure.

I bled for months after my D&C; unfortunately no one is the same, my MD was not at all worried about it said it's normal to bleed.....just stay un touch with your doctor or midwife, they will tell you what's best for your situation.... and I'm sorry for your loss , I understand this is a very hard time

I’m so sorry for what you are going through. I bled for about two weeks after my procedure in August. I panicked and called the doctor, who said it was normal. She also said some women experience a period immediately after the d+c bleeding has stopped (!) which could make it seem like it lasts even longer. Best wishes to you!

For me, I had a d&c; at nearly 10 weeks because the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. After the procedure, my doc prescribed misoprostol. I was so confused because I thought the d&c; was going to clean everything out. Well it just so happened that my cervix refused to dilate during the procedure, so my doc was only able to get out the baby and placenta but not the rest of the tissue. I was bleeding and had clots for almost 2 weeks.

Sorry to hear this :( I had a D&C; a little over two weeks ago (i passed most of it at home, so only a little had to be removed). They warned me that it’s possible not all would come out and to expect to spot for a week or two. I had spotting but no clots for a week post D&C.; It sounds like they just didn’t get everything during the procedure  for you :(
