Labor!!!!

UPDATE: so I went to the doctor and I've dilated to a 2. They are hoping to prolong until this weekend, if not longer, but my Doctor doesn't think we will get that lucky since I'm in the early stages of labor.

So this is my dilemma. We've all watched the movies, and tv shows that depict women screaming in agony while in labor, but I'm always bring told that's not how it is. So my question is how is it then?!?! Haha I'm 36.5 weeks along, measuring full term and am at a 1. Baby dropped 2 weeks ago and my doctor was surprised she didn't make an appearance then. Everyday I get more contractions nothing to crazy or consistent so we don't worry about it. But today I had the whole "lightening crotch" I hear people talk about (so fun by the way) and more pain and pressure but once again nothing consistent. I went to bed and kept waking up due to pain in my lower abdomin. So here I am at 4 in the morning walking up and down my hallway to get some sort of relief. I don't think I'm in active labor, but once again I DON'T KNOW! I'm expecting some obvious ah-ha moment of this is it! But then I read other stories where people didn't realize they were in labor. So ladies what were some of your labor symptoms! I know all women are different but I'm just curious since sleep is not happening right now
