epidural....or natural??

does it hurt to do it naturally I have a 4 year old but I had her with epi, and I don't know if I want to do it again .I wanted to try for naturally just have no idea if the pain will be too much for me .please tell me your story if it's worth doing it naturally, and also the pros and cons of doing either or please .Thank y'all loves look forward to hearing from yall🤗

I would go in with no expectations either way. Just take things as they come. Maybe go as long as you can without an epidural, but don’t feel like it detracts from your labor experience or makes you any less of an amazing and strong woman to get an epidural if you decide to get it. Every labor is completely different. There is no way of knowing exactly how things will go for you or what you will experience. As long as the end result is a healthy mom and baby, it was a success! Yes of course it hurts, but many women prefer natural birth and get through it. You can try without it and see how you do.

Of course it hurts naturally. I have a high pain tolerance and didn't go to the hospital till I was 8cm dialated so my only option was natural. I will admit that I did ask for pain meds when I got there but being so far along it wasn't an option so I just did what needed to be done.

I did this. Had my first with an epidural and natural with my second. It's painful. I ended up having back labor which sucks. BUT even with it being painful I didn't ask for anything for pain until 8 cm dilated to which the gave me something in my IV that really did nothing. I asked for an epidural too late which is good because I knew I didn't want it but I was exhausted.  By the time I asked her head was already there and I needed to push. 3 pushes and a half hour later she was here. The pain almost immediately goes away except for being sore of course.

Have you tried joining the Natural birth group here on glow? They have a group dedicated entirely to this topic and tons of experiences from woman who have gone through a natural labor. I too was wondering about this. Yesterday I joined the group and found tons of stories and information. I encourage you to do the same☺️

I’m a first time mom but I would honestly rather get all the pain over & done with right away so I’m opting out of an epidural. But I’m open to other pain management options if I decide the pain gets to be too much.

Of course it hurts! But it’s tolerable. I’m glad my husband and I talked about every decision ahead of time because there was no way I could focus on anything but laboring.
