There is no truth to it whatsoever. Everyone just carries different. I was a pretty average size with my pregnancies and both of my babies were just over 7 pounds. My sister was huge (she gained almost 100 pounds) and her daughter was only 4 and a half pounds.

My bump is small, and they estimate my daughter is on the larger side. I’m 35 weeks and she’s about 6.5 pounds, so no there’s no correlation. Your body carries weight differently than someone else’s.

My sister was massive. My nephew was born 10 days late and was 5lb 15oz.  My friend was tiny, gave birth at 38 weeks to a nearly 9lb baby!

Not at all. Everyone carries different. If you have a strong core prior to pregnancy it can make you look smaller throughout as it carries things tighter. Fundal height is a truer indication rather then bump size.

I really think this depends on your doctor. My dr with my first made it clear my daughter would be small from my fundal height. 34 weeks at 39 weeks. She would up being over 8 lbs. This baby is also measuring behind in fundal height, she could very well be small, or large like my first. I don't think belly size matters. I've never had the huge basketball belly.
