Paid to parent
Hi everyone,
My husband and I are ready ttc.
Here is my back story.
I became a nanny for my current "family" almost 7 years ago. Thats a long time with one nanny family. I started nannying to get through college. Well this family became my second family. While talking to another nanny a few years ago she said she lost her job because she became pregnant.
I sat my boss(the dad) down and asked where my job stands if I become pregnant.
Do I lose my job (I know legally it's unlikely, but loop holes)? Do I have to bring my child to daycare? My dream was to always raise my own children but still make an income.
So my boss told me I am a special case and they would let me bring my child with to work. Wow! Amazing! Yes, thats what I dreamt of!!!
But that talk was a couple of years ago and Im afraid things have changed. Both my nanny kids are in school full time now.
My fear is that Ive stuck it out with this family and then when I get pregnant I cant bring my child with.
Has anyone else brought their children to work and had it work out??
