Happiness?

Question

Do you think happiness is a right everyone deserves or should people have to work for it if they want it? 
Is happiness (or any other emotion) required for survival or could humans survive without it?
Is happiness the most beneficial emotion for humans? (If not, what is?)

Happiness is being content with what you have. The problem lies in people acting like it’s something to be achieved or found....

I’d agree with our founding fathers that the pursuit of happiness is an unalienable right. 
Happiness isn’t a static state though. I don’t think anyone achieves a permanent happiness that nothing can ever touch, but we as humans have the ability to find light in even the darkest of times. Ive always appreciated Viktor Frankl’s take on the matter. It’s worth looking up for anyone interested in existentialist thought. 
I’m not sure that there’s a single most beneficial emotion. They’ve all contributed to our evolution and our very humanity.
