Two kids really more financially tough?

I have a son. I’m at stay at home mom. I really want another baby and my husband & I have been trying for one. The gap would be three years. My mom keeps telling me that two is such a financial change. We’re not broke, not rich but not living pay check to pay check. Can anyone shed some light? I feel really down. Day care near me would be 1500$ for full time work a week and family doesn’t help watch my son so it wouldn’t be an option...:(

We don’t have two kids (or even one yet), but my aunt always told me having more kids just means more sandwiches. I know dogs aren’t the same as kids, but when I wanted another dog, but was worried about affording it - my aunt again told me, you don’t notice it, you just buy more food and roll with it. She had two children and lived BELOW the poverty level. If you can budget a little more for future expenses , don’t not have that baby. You’ll regret it more if you don’t. No one lays on their death bed and says “thank god we had that extra $200 (or whatever) month and didn’t have that kid we wanted!”

no matter what the more children the more money you put out.. if you wait til u can afford children youll never have them.. i have a 2 yr old an soon to b 7 yr old.. my seven yr old however is my step son so its not a 24\7 thing.. but it still gets costly.. luckily my hubby works his butt off an does whatever he has to to make sure me an the kids have what we want an need.. it is teamwork without a doubt.. plus we r ttc another.. if u want another you will find a way.!

That's hard and I get it because my SO has a child and we both want one of our own but cannot afford it at the moment so it's on hold. depending on how much he makes and you make maybe look into getting help for daycare if you qualify or being a sahm if it's doable for you guys and you don't mind giving up working for a few years or him being a sahd, idk your dynamics and who makes what. if those aren't an option then it's really up to the 2 of you and making it work if you both really want another baby. if you really want it and you have time to save up money maybe do that so it's not so hard financially. I dont know how much you love your job and how hard you or him worked to get what you have but maybe one of you could find a stay at home job so you don't have to worry about daycare. those are all just options to look into.
