I feel like freebleeding would definitely be more popular if it was more socially accepted. It actually feels relieving

In your home? Sure. Do what you want in YOUR home. 
 I personally don't want my furniture stained with blood. 
In public? No. Absolutely not. 
Blood is a biohazard, and hell will freeze over before I'm okay with people bleeding on everything in public. 
There's no reason to do that. If you don't like making trash from your period from used tampons and pads buy reusable products.

If it's just spotting only there when I wipe, I'll go without anything, but if I'm actively bleeding, I'm using a cup because no way do I want EVERYTHING I own to be stained
